WHAT IS THE PEGASUS NATIONAL MYTHOLOGY EXAM?

The Pegasus Mythology Exam is open to all students, grades 3-8. Students  in grades 9-12 should register for the Medusa Mythology Exam.

The Pegasus Mythology Exam is given annually to over 6,000 students in approximately 300 schools nationally and internationally. The National Mythology Exam welcomes all students of classical mythology. .

WHAT IS THE CONTENT?

Exam requirements based on the grade level of the student:

 

General Myth

(30 questions)

Thematic Section

(10 questions)

Classical Subtest:

Aeneid or Oydssey

(10 questions)

Grades 3-4

WHAT ABOUT THE RESOURCES?

The  Pegasus Mythology Exam bibliography lists all required readings. Some resources from the bibliography are available from the American Classical League's Teaching Materials and Resource Center. 

Since no standard translation is being recommended for the test, a list of classical spellings that will be used on the test can be found here

Additionally, ETC has available for purchase an activity packet with printable activities designed to reinforce the concepts and information covered by the test.

Exam registration: September 1, 2020 - January 15, 2021 

Exam administration: February 22 - March 5, 2021

Exam results mailed: early-to-mid May, 2021
